And just like that, my baby is no longer a baby.
It was the text that I knew would come one day, but just not yet. I am sitting home editing all my squishy newborn photos, and then I hear the familiar “bing” I open it and I see it’s from my oldest,
“Mom, I applied for college” I stared at the text, how did he apply for college, he’s still my little baby, you know with the big blue eyes and platinum blonde hair. The one who used to love to brush my hair and try on my shoes, (sorry Trev).
He texts again “mom?” to make sure I got it. I hit the open button and type back
“How on earth are you old enough to apply to college” he doesn’t write back, typical teenager.
Where did that time go, this tall gangly teenager has taken over my sweet little boy. A teenager who is the best son a mother can ask for, he does his chores without being asked, he adores his sisters, even though with each one he wanted a brother. He helps a lot around the house, and only grumbles a little.
His favorite show used to be ‘Bear in the Big Clue House’, he would sit in front of the tv with his cup of milk and his blueie, a crocheted blue blanket, and be glued to that singing bear. His blueie is now back to it’s baby state of a ball of yarn, while he has now 6 feet tall and practically driving. We went upstate this past weekend, he asked me to find his “Bear in the Big Blue House” movies, I guess I know what I will be doing this weekend, living in the past of my little guy, wishing for him to stop growing so fast.
Now on to some newborn goodness! Meet this beautiful little girl, all sleepy and snuggly for her newborn photos 🙂
And just in case you were wondering, this is what I am currently listening to as I edit 🙂
