When my kids were babies, I was afraid I would forget the little pieces.
Not the big milestones- crawling, walking, climbing; I knew I'd remember those. I was afraid I'd forget the tiny fingers wrapped around mine, the sleepy little stretches, the flaky newborn skin, and the way they fit so perfectly in my arms.
At the time, I didn't realize how quickly those details would fade. I was so lost in the newborn haze that I didn't even think it was possible to forget them. Life got busy, the days blurred together, and before I knew it, my babies weren't babies anymore.
Maybe that's why I linger on the little things.
The tiny fingers.
The wispy lashes.
The little pout they'll outgrow before you know it.
Because one day, when you're missing this version of your baby, I want you to be able to find them again.
If you're expecting and looking for a Long Island newborn photographer, I'd love to help preserve these little pieces.
