It always amazes me to see so much personality tucked into someone so tiny.
The sleepy expressions. The little pout. Those impossibly small features that somehow already look completely like her.
That is one of my favorite parts of newborn sessions. We can choose beautiful wraps, delicate florals, and soft colors, but the baby is always the part I want you to notice first.
Every setup can look a little different while still feeling like it belongs together. For her session, we kept everything soft and feminine with lavender, deep green, tiny florals and just enough color.
And then there are the details.
The profile you stare at while they're sleeping. The tiny lips. The nose you're already convinced looks exactly like someone in the family.
Those are the photographs that become more valuable with time, because babies don't stay this little for very long.
I want parents to look back at their newborn gallery years from now and remember more than what their baby looked like. I want them to remember how tiny she felt in their arms. How closely they studied every little feature. How new all of this was.
Because these really are her very first portraits.
And someday, they'll be the way you get to show her exactly how little she once was.
