Why I Keep My Newborn Sessions Simple

Why I Keep My Newborn Sessions Simple

I've always been drawn to simple newborn photography.

I love soft colors, delicate textures, and little touches of flowers, but I never want the setup to be the first thing you notice.

I want you to see your baby.

Their little round cheeks. The eyelashes you didn't realize were quite that long. The tiny lips. The way they naturally curl themselves into the smallest little ball.

Twenty years from now, I don't want you looking back at your newborn photos and seeing a trend that was popular at the time. I want you to see your baby exactly as they were.

That's why even when I use a basket, flowers, wraps, or a beautiful headband, they're there to complement your baby, never compete with them.

Some of my favorite images are actually the simplest ones. A sleeping baby, beautiful light, and nothing else demanding your attention.

Because your baby was always enough.
